As BuzzFeed News' Jon Passantino reports, a copy of the president's schedule shows Cook will meet with Trump in the Oval Office at 1:45 p.m. local time.

President Donald Trump will meet with Apple CEO Tim Cook at the White House on Wednesday, as the tech company stands to be affected by deteriorating relations between the US and China.

The White House on Monday made a point of stressing that the first lady, 47, was involved in every detail of the dinner honoring French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte Macron, according to Trump spokeswoman Sanders at her Monday press briefing. -China trade war - the countries have proposed tariffs on each other's products - which could have a significant impact on Apple and other USA companies. But the second could have a more direct impact on U.S. shoppers by targeting cellphones, computers and other consumer goods and prompting price increases at Apple stores and other USA retailers.

As for what Trump and Cook will discuss is anyone's guess, though economic and trade issues are likely. Earlier, Apple did not respond to a request for comment about what topics Cook planned to cover.

Cook and the president have a complicated relationship. Former EPA chief Lisa Jackson, now Apple's vice president for environment, policy and social initiatives, also attended.

Trump has a tense relationship with the United States technology industry, based in Democratic strongholds such as California's Silicon Valley and Seattle.
