With Iranian hardliners likely to encourage a more confrontational response to adversaries in response to the USA withdrawal, tensions could be set to ramp up considerably.

"We do not know yet the (Iranian) casualty count", he said.

Israel was founded in 1948, and immediately found itself at war with Egypt, Syria, Transjordan, Iraq, Yemen, Morocco, Saudi Arabia and Sudan.
