  • Gianluigi Buffon apologises to Juve fans for what the players did after Napoli loss

Allegri's side pushed four points clear at the top with a thrilling 3-2 win over a 10-man Inter at San Siro on Saturday.

Juventus were given a taste of their own medicine when they were beaten by a 90th-minute goal at home by Napoli nine days ago, cutting their lead to one point and re-igniting the race.

Juve were facing a dramatic defeat until they levelled with three minutes left from a Juan Cuadrado shot that deflected off the defender Milan Skriniar.

"Football is a sport of passion".

"It will be hard to put this defeat behind us", said Inter coach Luciano Spalletti.

Higuain had been guilty of missing a fantastic chance with the score at 1-1, but the former Napoli striker significantly dented the Partenopei's title hopes with an 89th-minute header to spark wild celebrations and ensure the Scudetto, somewhat improbably, remains in Juve's hands.

Inter Milan were playing at home to Juventus and after the visitors scored on 13 minutes, Inter then had a man sent off five minutes later.

Minutes later, the sending off of midfielder Matías Vecino didn't help the hosts as the Uruguyan went in for a strong challenge that caught forward Mario Mandzukic on the ankle.

Juventus thought it had scored a second just before half-time but the video assistant referee (VAR) showed Blaise Matuidi was offside when he found the net. Gonzalo Higuain headed the victor in the 89th minute.

In a weird finish, Allegri was sent to the stands for coming onto the pitch to celebrate.

Roma warmed up for their Champions League second leg with Liverpool by hammering Chievo 4-1.

Instead, Buffon attracted praise for staying on the pitch to congratulate every Napoli player in the aftermath of a victory that brought them to within one point of the reigning Italian champions and current top-flight leaders.

Inglese headed in a late consolation goal for Chievo, but they remain two points above the drop zone.

The hosts dominated even after Brazilian defender Juan Jesus was sent off for fouling Inglese and Alisson saved the resulting penalty, with El Shaarawy and Dzeko adding two more within 10 minutes.

Bottom-placed Benevento snatched a point in the league table after a late 3-3 draw against Udinese, who hold the 15th position with 34 points. "We know that we've got to win them all".
