Jurgen Klopp has placed all of the pressure on Real Madrid ahead of the UEFA Champions League final in Kiev, Ukraine on Saturday.

Madrid approach the game in Kiev having won three of the previous four Champions League finals - two on the trot - while Liverpool's most recent European final was a defeat to Sevilla in the Europa League two years ago.

Fans are gathering in the Ukrainian capital Kiev for the biggest event in the footballing calendar - the European Champions League final. "I am pretty sure in the second before the game Real Madrid will be more confident than we are, but the game doesn't end in that second, it only starts", Klopp said.

Real have seen this as their competition ever since winning the first five European Cups in a row, and this is another golden era for them, in which they are dreaming of making it a fourth Champions League in five years.

"We have to make it as hard as possible for them".

"Religion is private how I understand it", Klopp said.

Zidane's side have beaten Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Bayern - this season's French, Italian and German champions - in the knockout rounds, but Klopp still believes his team can upset the odds at the Olympic Stadium.

"To qualify for a final, it shows that you are back".

Liverpool's three-man strike force of Egyptian Mohamed Salah, Brazilian Roberto Firmino, and Senegalese Sadio Mane, have picked up 29 of their goals in the tournament.

"We've done fantastically well to get to this point", Henderson said.

"I know exactly how I have to play", insisted Marcelo on Friday.

FFT hasn't even finished our question about Zinedine Zidane's standing in the pantheon of Real Madrid's all-time greats when Christian Karembeu interjects.

While Madrid and Liverpool are contesting the biggest prize in club football, they were far off the pace in their home leagues. "You hope to be in the final, like everyone else that starts this campaign, but to actually be in it is fantastic and hopefully it can be even better".

For once in a Champions League final, Cristiano Ronaldo will yield some of the spotlight to another player sweeping up adulation and personal acclaim.

Egyptian global Salah has arguably been the stand-out performer across Europe this season, leading a reshaped Liverpool front-line after the exit of Coutinho in January. Because we have the games we had in the Champions League, the most exceptional run to the final, the most goals, I can not believe that it is true... but it's us.

Another die-hard African Real Madrid fan had this to say to the BBC on the match: "Christiano Ronaldo will never go off a field empty-handed".

"I know how I lost the finals, it didn't change my life", said Klopp, a two-time Bundesliga champion with Dortmund.
