Host of the UK's Eurovision broadcast, Graham Norton, was shocked by the disruption.

Jessica - who was a runner-up on Australian Idol in 2006 and is representing Down Under with her pop hit We Got Love - is now lagging behind in twelfth place, according to bookmakers.

"Well I don't know what will happen now, whether we will get another performance or not".

The incident left SuRie without a microphone for at least ten seconds and she was forced to clap along as cameras cut to fans in the audience.

Last year's victor of the Eurovision song contest in El Salvador Gathered displeased that after his triumph of the qualitative component of the performances has changed for the better. The full Eurovision 2018 show can be seen in the video below.

The Dubliner is now third favourite to win and he will perform third from last.

Cyprus' Eleni Foureira, who is a huge star in Greece, is tipped by bookmakers as the favourite to win with her fiery number "Fuego" that features a heavily choreographed routine.

Ukrainian entry MELOVIN is first up on Saturday night with his song "Under The Ladder".

The grand final is set to be live streamed on Sunday 13 May from 5am local-time, but the 28-year-old songstress faces stiff competition from some of the other show-stopping contestants.

On the second place according to the bookies will be 25-year-old Netta Barzilai from Israel with the song "Toy".

Singer Elina Nechayeva nailed her operatic belter La Forza, climaxing in a cacophony of Mariah Carey-esque whistle notes.

Eurovision was first held in 1956 with the aim of uniting Europe after World War II.

And the contest's organisers have barred China from showing the final, after one of its TV stations censored LGBT elements of Tuesday's semi-final.

In the first semi-finals to the finals were: Austria, Estonia, Cyprus, Lithuania, Israel, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Albania, Finland, Ireland.

Despite an ever-increasing number of TV music contests such as Pop Idol, fans say the show - the longest-running global TV competition according to Guinness World Records - is in a category of its own.

The UK did not have to compete in the semi-finals as it gets an automatic place in the Eurovision final, thanks to its status as one of the biggest financial contributors to the European Broadcasting Union.

Viewers and professional juries in all 43 participating countries will pick the victor, with the tele-voting and juries each counting for 50 percent.
