The video game developer tweeted a short six-second teaser video clip via its official Assassin's Creed Twitter account with the message "See you at E3!" The video shows what appears to be a Spartan warrior kicking a Persian "Immortal" off a cliff. And of course, the title Odyssey infers some connection to Ancient Greece, specifically the Trojan War - which took place in the 12th century BCE.

Between that, the visual cues in the announcement thumbnail, and a report from French outlet JeuxvideoLive, it's nearly certain that the next AC title will be set in Greece.
While Origins added Witcher-like RPG elements, Odyssey will take things even further, those people said, bringing dialogue options to the series for the first time.
With this not-so-subtle hints it looks nearly certain that Assassin's Creed Odyssey will take players to Ancient Greece, where 300 also took place.
The curious thing here, of course, is that the timing of this announcement seems to hint at a return to annualisation for Assassin's Creed.
According to the site (via Google Translate), one insider sent an Assassin's Creed Odyssey keychain in the form of a Spartan head. If that's indeed the case, it could indicate that Ubisoft is once again planning yearly installments in the franchise, a tradition it left behind after 2014's Unity bombed both critically and financially.
With that in mind, it would be too early for Ubisoft to announce the game at this E3 if the plan is to release it in holiday 2019, so it's hard to say.
We'll get some idea of what, and how new, Odyssey is - and when it'll be launching - at this year's E3 expo this month.
