Melania Trump doubles-down with "I really don't care" jacket

  • Explanation Officials from the Upbring New Hope Children's Center spoke to the First Lady before she toured the facility to meet children

The army green jacket was adorned with bold, white letters on the back, reading: "I REALLY DON'T CARE, DO U?".

While everyone was speculating whether Melania Trump was trying to send a message by wearing a provocative Zara jacket when departing for a trip to the border, she doubled-down by wearing it on her return trip too. The Trump administration's so-called zero tolerance policy will remain in place, but families will be kept together in detention. It's conceivable that she meant that, unlike her media-obsessed husband, she doesn't care about press coverage. "This is exceptionally insensitive and appalling even for you".

'There was no hidden message. "After today's important visit to Texas, I hope the media isn't going to choose to focus on her wardrobe", Grisham said. She changed into sneakers before landing, but the heels captured a disproportionate amount of media attention.

"I also like to ask you how I can help to be sure these children reunite with their families as quickly as possible", she said.

Critics will admit that in the end, Melania and Ivanka Trump ultimately made the President see reason as he signed an executive order thus ending the separation of families on Wednesday.

Thursday's visit was one of two that the president's wife made to the Texas facilities where some of the more than 2,300 migrant children are being housed after their families entered the US illegally.

The Trump administration previously had not said whether any hundreds of children who were separated from their families had been reunited. Since then, public outcry has gotten louder than ever before and support for immigrant families has skyrocketed.

Melania spent an hour-plus at the shelter, talking directly to children who spoke to her either in English or in Spanish, through a translator.

Since Trump's executive order, Democrats have argued his search for a way out of one humanitarian crisis merely created another.

Program Director Roy De La Cerda told the first lady that the mostly Guatemalan children typically stay at the center for an average of 42 to 45 days.

The rejected bill would have curbed legal immigration and bolstered border security but would not have granted a pathway to citizenship to "Dreamers" who arrived in the country illegally as children.

A second source said that Melania was aware that she was going to create drama with her fashion choice but made a decision to move forward anyway because she is already in knee-deep with her husband.

She says this leaves groups like hers "uncertain" about how to manage those kids already in detention in the U.S.
