Mohamed Salah is reportedly considering whether to quit worldwide football after being publicly blasted for posing with Ramzan Kadyrov for a picture.

CNN in the US reports that the 25-year-old is considering quitting the Egyptian national team, due to "unhappiness" with how the FA have used him for political purposes.

Ramy's comment on waiting until the final game tomorrow against Saudi Arabia passes is intriguing, given the rumours a week ago after the second game claiming that Salah wanted to immediately depart the worldwide set-up.

Sadio Mane said Liverpool teammate Mohamed Salah has the mental strength to bounce back from injury and World Cup heartache, revealing Saturday that he sent him a message of support.

Salah missed the opener against Uruguay, a 1-0 defeat, while he and his Egypt side were overrun by hosts Russian Federation 3-1 to exit the tournament at the group stage with one game remaining.

A source with knowledge of Salah's position on the matter has confirmed this to be correct to ESPN FC, adding that the player is now considering his global future.

'Mohamed Salah is an honorary citizen of the Chechen Republic.

Chechnya leader Kadyrov is backed by the Kremlin but is under sanctions imposed by the United States, which accuses him of contravening human rights.

The Chechnya leader is a controversial figure at home and overseas, having been accused of human rights abuses and the murder of homosexuals in his homeland.

Reports from Egypt suggest that Salah is angered by how his influence and public image have been used to help further certain parties' political agendas. Salah was also given a silver plate and a signed jersey from FC Akhmat Grozny, the football club Kadyrov has renamed in honour of his father.

There has been a massive fall-out ever since the pictures emerged and Kadyrov was accused of using Salah as a propaganda stunt.

Vodafone has a sponsorship deal with Salah, but his image was plastered on Egypt's World Cup plane which was sponsored by WE, a rival telecommunications company. Our enemies are paid to write things like that.

'Mohamed Salah thanked us for the surprisingly warm and good reception, excellent attitude to the team, excellent living conditions and training, ' Kadyrov posted on Russian social network site VK.
