The NCAA announced that Phoenix and Glendale earned the 2024 Final Four as it released the hosts for the men's basketball NCAA Tournament events from 2023 through 2026 on Monday.

Other finalists in the running were Detroit, Los Angeles, and North Texas. The news comes as a major disappointment for local basketball enthusiasts, as the Final Four selection series were chosen for the years 2023-2026.

"The footprint of downtown San Antonio is one of the most walkable and liveable in the United States, which is why San Antonio continues to be such an attractive location for the Final Four and events like this", he said. San Antonio (2025) and Indianapolis (2026) were picked as the host cities.

"There's always new stadiums that are being built, as we see, and anytime there's new stadiums being built, there's opportunities for it to go to them " she said.

The NCAA on Monday afternoon released the Final Four sites for the next set of four years, with San Antonio, which by almost all accounts has been universally praised as a wonderful host city for the Final Four, earning its way back into the coveted rotation for the fifth time since 1998. The result was arguably one of the best Final Fours in the event's history. "It's either apprehension (over the unknown) or they're building a new stadium". Duke has won three (1991, 2010, 2015) of the seven national championships crowned in Indianapolis, while Louisville, Arizona, Michigan State and Florida captured the others.

According to a study from the W.P. Carey School of Business, the 2017 Final Four generated an estimated $324.5 million for the Valley economy and brought in nearly 60,000 visitors for the weekend.

"We thank the NCAA for selecting Arizona to host this highly coveted event with its massive economic and community impact", said Tom Sadler, president/CEO of the Arizona Sports and Tourism Authority. "We want to make that ease of getting out to the stadium as best as they can".

The 2024 Final Four games are set to be played at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale.
