  • Jack Wilshere of Arsenal shows his frustration to the referee during the Carabao Cup Semi Final Second Leg at Emirates Stadium

Former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has joined West Ham on a three-year deal and says he has moved to the club he supported as a boy.

The England midfielder completed his move to the London Stadium on Monday after having been heavily linked with a switch to the Hammers. "It feels good and of course my family and a few of my friends are West Ham fans so everyone's buzzing".

"They called me not every day but a lot of times telling me to come here", he said.

"I think it was a number of things", he confirmed, "the manager being one and the way he wants to play and where he sees me playing".

West Ham had tabled a bid worth £37m (€41m/$49m) in total, but were told by the Italian club that they would have to make an offer worth £50m (€56m/$66m). Not many clubs could fill it week in, week out, and West Ham do.

"It feels good, it feels special", said Wilshere, who grew up as a Hammers fan.

He impressed on his return to Arsenal last season but the 34-cap England global was unable to force his way into the squad for the World Cup.

After returning from a broken foot, Wilshere proved his fitness for Arsenal last season, making 29 starts in all competitions.

Anderson, 25, is also on the wish list of new manager Manuel Pellegrini.

Yarmolenko and Anderson will certainly add an excitement angle to the Hammers this season but Pellegrini will now need to get the best out of two extremely talented players if he is to turn the club into a top half team next season.

Is it a good signing? He obviously hates YOUR football team and has no interest in synchronised swimming.
