  • Rudy Giuliani Says Witnesses Contradict Michael Cohen's Story on Russia Meeting

President Trump said Tuesday that "collusion is not a crime" - echoing the words of his lawyer Rudolph W. Giuliani in a series of media interviews the day before - but also reasserted that there had been "no collusion" between his campaign and Russian Federation. "The president didn't hack", Giuliani said on CNN.

Later, Giuliani phoned in to Fox News seeking to clarify his earlier comments, telling anchor Harris Faulkner that "it's a very, very familiar lawyer's argument that...the alternative, that my client didn't do it, and even if he did, it's not a crime".

"If these folks don't know that collusion and conspiracy are synonyms for one another and this is a legal strategy then they might want to consider changing horses in this race", Rosenberg added. "Collusion is not a crime".

Trump himself on Tuesday tweeted that collusion was not a crime, adding that it didn't matter any way because there was no collusion between his campaign and Russian Federation, which intelligence agencies have concluded meddled in the 2016 election.

Giuliani made headlines Monday when he gave a series of rambling TV interviews in which he stated that "collusion is not a crime".

Waas writes that the previously undisclosed evidence - which his sources say includes "highly confidential White House records and testimony by some of President Trump's own top aides" - offers "some of the strongest evidence to date implicating the president of the United States in an obstruction of justice".

"I'm happy to tell Mueller that Trump wasn't at the Trump Tower meeting", Giuliani said.

Trump blasted Mueller for not releasing conflicts of interest stemming from what he called "a very nasty & contentious business relationship", and noted that he had previously turned him down to head the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

"On Thursday, Giuliani had told Camerota's fellow CNN anchor Chris Cuomo: "[Trump] didn't know about it.

The Trump team began publicly arguing this assertion since late a year ago.

In particular, prosecutors say they will introduce evidence that a chairman of one of the banks allowed Manafort to file inaccurate loan information in exchange for a role on the Republican campaign and the promise of a job in the Trump administration that never materialised.
