American intelligence also suggested that Kim was continuing to expand his nuclear arsenal, instead of making a commitment to achieve denuclearisation in North Korea along with US President Donald Trump at their meeting in Singapore in April.

Another Indonesian delegate, Deputy National Police chief Syafruddin, said Indonesia guaranteed security to all countries and contingents present at the Asian Games, including the government of North Korea.

Satellite photos reportedly show that North Korea continues work on developing intercontinental missile technology.

Kim signed an agreement to work toward denuclearization during a summit with Trump last month, and Trump spent the wake of the meeting praising the brutal regime leader's character and intelligence.

Liquid-fueled ICBMs, such as the Hwasong-15, require lead-time to make ready for launch and are therefore considered less destabilizing than solid-fueled rockets, which can quickly be prepared for a first strike.

The Washington Post reported on Monday that United States intelligence agencies are seeing signs that work is under way on one or two liquid-fueled ICMBs at the Sanumdong research facility, according to officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

North Korea is continuing production of intercontinental-range ballistic missiles (ICBMs) at a known missile manufacturing site, US officials with knowledge of the latest classified intelligence of North Korea's weapons programs confirmed to The Diplomat.

Trump declared soon afterwards that North Korea no longer posed a nuclear threat.

The Post's report cited unidentified officials familiar with intelligence reporting. Last Tuesday, Trump said new images signaled that North Korea was beginning to dismantle "a key missile site". In addition to obfuscating its number of nuclear warheads and missiles, United States intelligence reportedly indicated that the regime is trying to hide the type and numbers of its facilities, and prevent global inspectors from taking a look at their developments.

"We too remain concerned" by North Korean violations of UN-approved sanctions, the USA official said.

The Diplomat earlier this month had exclusively revealed North Korea's covert uranium enrichment site of Kangson, also on the outskirts of Pyongyang.

An image taken on July 7 showed a bright-red covered trailer in a loading area that appears to be identical to those vehicles the country has previously used to transport ICBMs. Recent photos suggested the North Koreans were in the process of dismantling a test engine stand at a satellite launching station, but various analysts warn the gesture is mostly symbolic since tests there were already complete. "We have not been taken for a ride", he said.

Fissile material refers to either uranium highly enriched in the uranium-235 isotope or plutonium-239, both of which are suitable for use in nuclear weapons.

The U.S., he added, has "to know what they have before talking about caps and arms control".
