Barr has since offered several defenses for her choice of words - which compared Jarrett to Planet of the Apes and the Muslim Brotherhood - including insisting she was misunderstood, under the influence of Ambien, and repeatedly contending that she didn't know Jarrett was black.

Barr has been an outspoken supporter of Donald Trump and the return of her show, which tells the story of a white, working class family in IL, was seen as a reflection of the mood of many who voted for him.

"I'm a Republican on 'The View, ' and every day I come one here and tell people that Trump supporters and Republicans are [a] nuisance, and it's not just one blanket thing", McCain said. Barr said it upset her to think how the accusations affected minority members of her family. "That's what was in my head". The comedian eventually did, saying that she was sorry for her "ill-worded tweet" and said she would tell Jarrett that she is sorry "that you feel harm and hurt". "I never meant to hurt anybody". I've apologised and explained and asked for forgiveness. I never meant that.

Roseanne Barr has apologised for her offensive tweet that resulted in her ABC show being cancelled, saying it "cost me everything". "And for that I apologize", Roseanne said.

Hannity reminded her to tell viewers she had sent the tweet at 2:30 AM.

In the interview Thursday night she finally apologized to the former Obama administration adviser but added 'she's gotta get a new haircut.

According to Barr, "He constantly put his hands all over me".

In June, ABC announced a Roseanne spin-off that will not feature Barr.

"Her tweets, a lot of incendiary things she said about Jewish people, obviously, Valerie Jarrett".

Despite being at the center of a two-month long controversy, Roseanne Barr believes she's finally been forgiven for her offensive tweet.

She added that she invited Jarrett to join her appearance on Sean Hannity, which she refused.

Appearing on Hannity, the disgraced TV star explained the tweet regarding Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett was political rather than racist, and again stated that Barr thought Jarrett - who is of African-American descent - was white. In canceling the show, the network - which is part of the Walt Disney Co. - issued a statement calling it "abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values".

Barr also revealed that when it comes to Twitter, "My kids took it away from me forever".

Hannity devoted the entire hour to the interview.

She shared: "I'm not a racist and the people who voted for Trump, they're not racist either, and Trump isn't a racist, sorry".
