  • US President Donald Trump hits back at Le Bron James over CNN interview

In an interview with CNN, James said he thought the president had used sports to "divide" the USA, adding it was something he "can't relate to". "He's doing an unbelievable job for his community".

On Friday night, the President tweeted about CNN anchor Don Lemon's interview with James, writing, "Lebron James was just interviewed by the dumbest man on television, Don Lemon".

The interview that Donald is referring to took place after LeBron's foundation, the LeBron James Family Foundation, and the Akron Ohio Public Schools launched a new elementary school for at-risk children on July 30. "Lebron James was just interviewed by the dumbest man on television, Don Lemon", Trump tweeted.

American football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe tweeted: "It should be beneath the dignity of a sitting USA president to take racist shots at Don Lemon and LeBron James". The interview took place at James' "I Promise" school in his hometown of Akron, Ohio.

"I can't sit back and say nothing", James said, explaining that sports should be used to unify. In September, James called Trump a "bum" for uninviting the NBA-champion Golden State Warriors to the White House.

Jordan joins a collection of current and former National Basketball Association players who defended James. She noted that the first lady's platform, centered around the "Be Best" initiative, includes "visiting organizations, hospitals and schools". Shortly before midnight, he made his thoughts known on what he thought of the LeBron-Lemon conversation.

OH governor John Kasich, a Republican like Trump, and former newscaster Dan Rather also criticized the President's tweet about James. Stephen Curry, who Mr. Trump claimed previous year he disinvited from the White House, wrote "Keep doing you" with a link to James' interview. Mrs. Trump praised James for his charity work less than a day after Trump attacked him on Twitter.

The LeBron James Family Foundation partnered with Akron Public Schools to design the school for students in the area who come from hard circumstances.

James has always been critical of Mr Trump. "We need more like him in this world", she tweeted.
