  • Afghans mourn a victim of the deadly suicide bombing

Taliban has denied responsibility.

Afghan authorities said on Thursday that the death toll from the attack, which hit an educational centre west of Kabul, was 34 and 56 were injured.

"The Taliban will try to have an upper hand during talks, so we can't rule out more attacks until a ceasefire", said Taliban expert Rahimullah Yusufzai.

The bomber targeted a private building in the Shiite neighborhood of Dasht-i Barcha where a group of young men and women, all high school graduates, were studying for university entrance exams.

This story has been sourced from a third party syndicated feed, agencies.

"Death and hatred to this government and filthy terrorist that everyday they are killing innocent Afghans", he added.

With Taliban fighters still positioned on the outskirts of the city, the Afghan president on August 17 arrived by helicopter rather than traveling the 120 kilometers southwest from Kabul on Afghanistan's main "ring road" highway.

At the moment none of the existing in the country anti-government group has claimed responsibility for the actions of a suicide bomber.

It also showed how militants are still able to stage large-scale attacks, even in the heart of Kabul, and underscored the struggles of the Afghan forces to provide security and stability on their own.

At least 35 Ghazni civilians have been killed, said Arif Noori, a spokesman for the provincial governor.

The Afghan Army prioritized transporting captured ISIS fighters to Kabul over re-supplying one of its bases in the northern Faryab province that the Taliban had been besieging for weeks.

Azam said that one Army helicopter brought Chinese Camp "three sacks of rice" on August 3, one day after the ISIS captives were taken to Kabul. Afghanistan's IS affiliate is known as The Islamic State in Khorasan Province, after an ancient name of the area that encompassed parts of present-day Iran, Afghanistan and Central Asia.

At least nine security forces were still missing and four others were wounded in the attack, said Abdul Hai Nemati, the governor of Baghlan.

According to the U.S., the Afghan government controls about 56 per cent of the country and the Taliban 11 per cent, while the rest of the territory is under dispute.

Afghanistan is littered with unexploded ordnance left by decades of war.

The Taliban launched a co-ordinated offensive last Friday, overwhelming the city's defences and capturing several neighbourhoods.

Afghan forces appeared to have finally pushed Taliban fighters from the strategic city of Ghazni on Wednesday, as shopkeepers and residents warily returned to the streets after days of intense ground fighting and USA airstrikes.

"Everyday we are witnessing deadly attacks in Kabul and other major cities".
