Liverpool boss Klopp admits everything open for deadline day: Ings...?

With Joel Matip injured and Dejan Lovren starting pre-season training only on Monday following his World Cup final exploits, Joe Gomez was primed to line-up alongside Virgil van Dijk on Sunday.

In the second half at Anfield midfielders Fabinho - who missed an early penalty - and Marko Grujic both filled in as Van Dijk only played 45 minutes but Klopp is not anxious ahead of Sunday's visit of West Ham. Yes I think it is possible.

He said: "Yes [I'm keen to play in the game]".

Kop boss Jurgen Klopp has spent £175m in the summer bringing in keeper Alisson Becker, midfielders Fabinho and Naby Keita as well as attacker Xherdan Shaqiri to bolster his squad.

New goalkeeper Alisson started for Liverpool, before Loris Karius was given a rousing reception when he replaced the Brazilian in the second half, just over two months after suffering concussion and making two awful errors in the Champions League final defeat by Real Madrid.

Liverpool should have taken the lead moments earlier when gifted a hugely generous penalty by referee Michael Oliver.

"We have to see how he reacts".

On Ings' future specifically, he added: "It's all open, what can I say?"

Henderson played a crucial role in England's run to the semi-finals of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, but his club manager asserted that he didn't need to see the midfielder's displays in Russian Federation to be convinced of his qualities.

"But it is Hendo, so to be honest in the first session it looked like he trained for the whole three weeks".

"He was in a really good shape so we thought a few minutes tonight would be possible".

"I have no clue what we will do at the weekend".

The £13m signing from Stoke is another Anfield star to catch the supporters' imagination across their pre-season fixtures, his overhead kick against Manchester United going a long way to firing the Swiss star into his new fans' affections.
