Burt Reynolds, legendary Hollywood star of movies such as Smokey and the Bandit, has passed away at the age of 82.

The actor was born on February 11, 1936 in Lansing, Mich., and at age 10 moved with his family to Florida, where he played high school football.

Another poor decision came around the release of Deliverance (1972). "I've seen women do that (before)", but not men.

Reynolds' notoriety soared through the late 1970s and 1980s, during which time he spearheaded the "Smokey and the Bandit" and "Cannonball Run" movie franchises.

Reynolds experienced some health issues later in his life.

He was nominated for an Oscar for best supporting actor his role as adult film director Jack Horner in Boogie Nights in 1997.

Reynolds was born in Lansing, Michigan, in 1936, and in 1946 moved with his family to Riviera Beach, Florida, where his father became a police chief. He also earned People's Choice Awards in 1979, 1982 and 1983 as all-around male entertainer of the year.

Reynolds attended Florida State University on a football scholarship, and eventually set out for New York City to pursue a career in acting. His father was in the military, and the family briefly lived in MI before settling in Florida when Reynolds was 10 years old.

Reynolds, known for "Smokey and the Bandit" and "Deliverance", among other major cinematic productions, is survived by his son, Quinton.

He famously posed nude for a Cosmo magazine in 1972 on a bearskin rug, although he reportedly regretted the photo shoot years later, saying "It was really stupid".

Reynolds also made a name for himself on the small screen, starring in a handful of television series that included B.L. Stryker, Gunsmoke, Hawk, and the CBS sitcom Evening Shade, which earned him an Emmy Award in 1991 for best actor. And there's one thing they can never take away: "Nobody had more fun than I did".

He is also known to have owned several custom-made sports cars, 150 horses, and an impressive toupee collection valued at $100,000.

Radar can reveal Reynolds took his last breath at Jupiter Medical Hospital in his home state of Florida.
