Struggling Raiders trade Amari Cooper to Cowboys for first-round pick

Amari Cooper is getting traded from the Raiders to the Cowboys; Josina Anderson was the first to report the news and Adam Schefter added that Dallas is sending back a 2019 first round pick, giving Jon Gruden three first rounders next season (the Raiders' own, this one, and the Bears' pick from the Khalil Mack trade). The Dallas offense ranks 26th in plays (60.4) and 25th in touchdowns per game this season (1.9). According to Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Joseph is expected to be the next former first-round pick to be traded.

His numbers dropped previous year because of injuries and he was deemed expendable after six games by new Oakland head coach Jon Gruden.

The Cowboys are off to a 3-4 start and have been looking for some receiving help for quarterback Dak Prescott.

Cole Beasley leads the Cowboys with 33 catches for 350 yards and two touchdowns.

It ended up being the worst trade in team history as Williams caught just 94 passes for 1,324 yards and 13 touchdowns in 40 games with the Cowboys.

The biggest move, and the most controversial one, from the Raiders was dealing Khalil Mack to the Bears for a pair of first round pick, which was only made worse by Mack being great, the Raiders being terrible rushing the passer, and Gruden continuously wondering why that was.

Cooper suffered a concussion on October 14 against Seattle. The 24-year old wide receiver earned Pro Bowl honors in his first two seasons with Oakland, racking up more than 1,000 receiving yards in both years, but his 2017 struggles have continued into this season.

The Raiders players returned from their bye week on Monday morning, trying to put their 1-5 start behind them.
