76ers taking first steps toward Markelle Fultz divorce

  • Cleveland Cavaliers: 3 reasons they should trade for Markelle Fultz

Sixers guard Markelle Fultz is meeting with specialists Monday and again mid-week in NY, reports ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Fultz, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 National Basketball Association draft, has lost the ability to carry out and follow through on long jump shots, and there's been internal and external debate about how much of this perplexing circumstance is physical vs. mental. He will see a shoulder specialist Wednesday, the report says. In addition, The Athletic also reported that Fultz would "prefer a fresh start with a new team" as he works through these latest round of issues. The team believes it will have to rely more heavily on McConnell because of the uncertainty surrounding Markelle Fultz.

The Philadelphia 76ers are considering trading Markelle Fultz with the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to reports.

Here they go again - at this point, it seems like the Sixers should just move on from Fultz but it's not going to be that easy. However, the sources claim that Fultz is open to a change if the Sixers were to make it happen.

To that end, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported Sunday that Fultz is no longer in the team's plans. Fultz's agent and attorney, Raymond Brothers, told the Sixers that Fultz would seek further opinions on his shoulder before returning to the court. All of this news comes at an interesting time as the Sixers have made it clear to any potential trade partners that T.J. McConnell is off the table. There have also been trade rumors swirling around Fultz over the past week or so.

He is averaging 8.2 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists over 19 games and is shooting 41.9 percent from the field and 28.6 percent from three-point range.
