"The joint patrol in Manbij between Turkish armed forces and the USA began today at 3.53pm", Defence Minister Hulusi Akar told lawmakers, according to state-run news agency Anadolu.

His remarks came a day after the Turkish forces shelled positions of the Kurdish militia in northern Syria.

The spokesman of the Manbij Military Council, a US -backed militia, said Thursday Nov. 1, 2018, that joint U.S.

On Wednesday, the SDF said the Turkish attacks had forced it to suspend its US-backed campaign against IS near the Iraqi border.

Moreover, both fighters from the Manbij Military Council (MMC) and the Turkish-backed Euphrates Shield forces were prevented from being present on the front line.

"We have completed all preparations for the east of the Euphrates. In the near future will be held a more large-scale and effective operation to neutralize the terrorists", he added.

The SDF has been on crushing offensive against IS in the eastern Euphrates since September 10, but the terror-designated group succeeded in a counter-offensive recently to recapture all fallen areas from the SDF.

According to some observers, there are fears within the Self-Administration-the Kurdish-led political authority that unilaterally declared its control over majority-Kurdish regions in 2013-of a repeat occurrence.

The US has some 2,000 troops in Syria, many of whom work with the SDF.

Turkey has long considered the Kurdish-led YPG to be a major threat to Turkey, due to the group's ideological ties to the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), a leftist Kurdish political and paramilitary group that is designated as a terrorist organization by the Turkish government.

With its message "if you can not prevent Turkey, we can not last in Deir ez-Zor", it aims to gain sympathy and support of the USA army.

The U.S. has been in touch with Turkey and a Kurdish-dominated Syrian militia to emphasize the need "to de-escalate the situation", he said.

"Coordination and consultation between the United States and Turkey on issues of security concern is a better approach", Palladino said.

"We are going to destroy the terrorist structure in the east of the Euphrates".

The approximately 50,000-strong SDF are a mix of Kurdish and Arab fighters and have been the primary ground force fighting IS in much of the country.

Washington s support of the Kurdish People s Protection Units (YPG) militia in the fight against the Islamic State group in Syria has strained already tense relations between North Atlantic Treaty Organisation allies Turkey and the US.

Quick Reaction Force (QRF) members conduct an after-action review following small unit tactics training in Manbij, Syria, Oct. 1, 2018. Turkey had repeatedly threatened to attack the town despite the presence of USA forces in the area.

Joint US-Turkish patrols around the northern Syrian town of Manbij have begun, Turkey's Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said on Thursday.

Since Tuesday, Turkish armed forces carried out cross-border shelling near Tal Abyad and Kobani. This week, Erdogan said: "The terror organization is digging trenches, they are preparing their graves".
