  • Rapper Mac Miller died of accidental overdose of fentanyl cocaine and alcohol

The cause of Mac Miller's death back in September has been announced by the Los Angeles County coroner. The coroner listed his death as an accidental overdose.

The 26-year-old, who rose to fame after topping United States charts with his debut album in 2011, was found dead at his California home in September. He was pronounced dead at the scene. However, he admitted that Miller, who had a history of drug addiction, was known to abuse "alcohol, non-prescribed medication (specifically Xanax and unspecified opiates), and cocaine". He was found by his assistant in a "praying position", kneeling forward with his face on his knees.

An empty bottle of alcohol was found on the nightstand, near Mac's body. and a bottle of prescription pills was found in the bathroom.

Police also discovered a $20 bill with white powdery residue on it inside Miller's pocket, TMZ reported. Prince died at 57 in April 2016, and a medical examiner ruled it an accidental overdose, finding fentanyl in his system.

Several artists, including Chance the Rapper, ScHoolboy Q and Ty Dolla $ign, paid tribute to him last week at a benefit concert in Los Angeles.

The rapper, whose real name was Malcolm James Myers McCormick, was generally healthy otherwise, the report stated.

Miller's death came just months after he split from Ariana Grande and weeks after he was charged with a DUI.
