The Washington County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded to a home in Aloha Thursday when they got a call of adults feeling ill after eating candy.

The parents told deputies the candy appeared sealed when they ate it Halloween evening.

An Oregon Sheriff's Office issued a warning to parents in its area after parents got sick from eating Halloween candy that was reportedly laced with methamphetamine.

Officials said no one else in the town reported getting sick from any candy.

Police said the parents were taken to the hospital for evaluation and are expected to survive. The remaining candy was confiscated as evidence.

It's not yet known which house gave out the candy.

Their two children didn't ingest any of the same candy, police said. The sheriff's office said they released the information "out of an abundance of caution".

The family lives on Southwest Jay Street and was roaming the neighborhood nearby.

"Because the "high" from the drug both starts and fades quickly, people often take repeated doses in a "binge and crash" pattern".

Even small amounts of meth can result in adverse health effects, such as faster breathing, rapid or irregular heartbeat, and increased blood pressure.
