  • Kareem Hunt cut by Kansas City Chiefs after alleged assault video on woman emerges

What could Kareem Hunt's featured interview on Sunday revealed about that night in February, when security camera footage showed him barreling over a woman and kicking her on the ground in a Cleveland hotel, that would change your mind one way or the other?

As they got closer, a male who appeared to be friends with Hunt tried to separate them before Hunt violently shoved the woman away.

Backing up earlier reports by ESPN and MMQB that indicated the league didn't seek to investigate the matter fully at the time, Hunt told Salters that the NFL never reached out to him in the initial aftermath to ask him about his role in it, even though people at the league office reportedly spoke with the Chiefs about it.

The Kansas City Chiefs announced they were cutting ties with Hunt on Friday, after the video of the incident was published by TMZ.

Tears streamed down Kareem Hunt's cheeks Friday evening after he learned of his fate with the Kansas City Chiefs, the team he had starred for in 2017 and '18.

Hunt confirmed that in his interview with ESPN, which aired Sunday, and extended an apology to the team.

"I regret not getting it all out there", Hunt said, asked what he regretted about the situation.

"I don't even know how to get in contact with her, but if could I would want to tell her right now that I am sorry for my actions that night", he said. That's just how I look at it.

Kareem Hunt has been released by the Kansas City Chiefs after a video has surfaced of a physical altercation that occurred between the running back and a woman this past February. Despite that move by the league, any team is free to claim Hunt on waivers before 4 p.m. on Monday. And when I saw the video, I realized what I did. It shows Hunt lunging toward a woman and several others in the hotel hallway, and the second-year pro being restrained several times. "Because he has a long life to live, this will be a defining moment, but it shouldn't be the moment that defines you". I know my upbringing wasn't ideal. It shows Hunt pushing a woman.

Hunt said he isn't sure that another National Football League team will give him a chance, though adding a 23-year-old standout could be worth the public backlash for a team in need of help.

Hunt was not this forthcoming about the incident at the time of the transgression.

The NFL is reportedly investigating a separate incident where Kareem Hunt was accused of punching a man in the face at an OH resort in the months after he beat a 18-year-old woman in a hotel. I made a poor decision. This means that if another team wants to sign Hunt, he is forbidden from playing or attending any game until the investigation is over and a decision on discipline has been made.

"There was definitely some things that were said and did that I did not like, and that's not an excuse", Hunt said.
