Kim Wants More Summits With Moon to Tackle Nuclear Issue

The meetings followed a rollercoaster few years of relations between US President Donald Trump and Kim - nosediving with Trump's famous "Rocket man" speech at the United Nations General Assembly in 2017, and peaking with their highly anticipated summit in Singapore earlier this year.
The report did not include details about the message but said it related to US-North Korea talks, and was conciliatory in tone.
On Sunday, the workplace of South Korea's President Moon Jae-in said Kim had sent a letter to his partner in Seoul saying he needs to hold more between Korean summits one year from now to accomplish denuclearisation of the promontory. The Blue House didn't fully disclose Kim's letter.

The North's leader "expressed a strong determination to visit Seoul while watching [the] future situation", Moon's spokesman Kim Eui-kyeom told reporters.
The North Korean leader sent a letter to the neighboring president on Sunday where, among other things, he highlighted the three bilateral summits and their positive impact on the de-escalation between the north and south of the peninsula.
Kim and Moon met three times in 2018 and have made a series of goodwill gestures as well as vowing to resume economic cooperation when possible.
Kim Jong-un also "expressed an intention to meet with Moon frequently in 2019" to pursue peace and "solve the issue of denuclearising the peninsula together", the spokesman said.
The letter comes days before Kim Jong Un is expected to address North Koreans in a New Year's speech that the country's leaders traditionally use to announce major policy decisions and goals.
Earlier this month, North Korea told the USA that sanctions and pressure won't work to force Pyongyang into action on its nuclear program.
He promised to make the trip after Mr Moon visited Pyongyang in September.
Talks between the US and North Korea have made little progress since Trump and Kim held an unprecedented summit in June and signed to "work toward complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula", without defining the term or setting a deadline.
