  • Former Jags DT Malik Jackson expected to sign with Eagles on a 3-year deal

Sources close to Jackson reveal that Philadelphia, who drafted him back in 2008, was his preferred destination.

The DeSean Jackson era in Tampa Bay appears to be coming to a close. Laine also reported that Jackson is "hopeful to either be traded to the Eagles or be released by the Bucs" because he wants a fresh start.

ESPN's Jenna Laine reported there is interest in Jackson around the National Football League, though not at his current $10 million salary.

Ever since the trade deadline in 2018, Jackson wanted to be dealt.

The trade can not be made official until 4 p.m. Wednesday. He was slated to take home $10 million with the Buccaneers in the final year of his three-year $33.5 million contract, which would end in 2019. Here's a running list of rumors, signings, news and more.

In his first unofficially game as an Eagles receiver, while wearing the No. 84 we must point out, Jackson racked up 12 catches from Wentz for 177 yards and three touchdowns in his EA Sports debut. The rookie was initially given a shot on the edge, however, late in the season it became clear he was a better interior rusher and he's expected to see significant play time in Jackson's place if not name the starter at defensive tackle.
