  • 'It's show time': Apple confirms launch event on March 25

Apple is expected to use the event to unveil its rumored Apple News service and a streaming TV service.

Apple's tagline was also used in 2006 to launch its Apple TV service and movies on iTunes.

Cupertino giant Apple has officially sent out invites for an event on March 25th at the company's new Steve Jobs theater in Cupertino, California.

In its invitation, Apple did not specify the focus of the event and gave a single-line description: "It's show time".

If anything, we may only see shows that Apple is already producing, like Carpool Karaoke, included at launch.

Some reports said actresses Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon and "Star Wars" director J.J. Abrams would join Apple at the event.

Apple is also in discussions with HBO, part of AT&T Inc-owned WarnerMedia, to become part of the service and it could yet make it in time for the launch, according to a person familiar with the matter. However, the partnership does not seem to be going smoothly as the report mentions that publishers are not happy with Apple's 50 per cent revenue cut from the service, making them hesitant to finalise the deal.

Apple will also reportedly launch a new 9.7-inch iPad that will keep a similarly low price as the current 9.7-inch model, as well an updated version of its AirPods headphones, which are overdue for an update that includes better sound, wireless charging and some additional health tracking features.

We'll find out more on Monday, March 25 with the event taking place at Apple's headquarters in Cupertino from 10am local time - 5pm GMT.
