  • Michael Jackson Dropped From Some Radio Stations Following Child Sex Abuse Doc

The move comes after the release of the documentary Leaving Neverland which explores allegations of sexual abuse against the late singer.

MediaWorks too confirmed that his music had been pulled, as a "a reflection of our audiences and their preferences".

Reports indicated that other large broadcasters, including BBC2 Radio, had banned Michael Jackson's music, though a representative for the station told Variety that the BBC doesn't ban artists.

The Jackson estate has called the documentary a "public lynching", threatening to sue HBO and Channel 4 over it. It was reported in 2004 that Jackson paid approximately $25 million to settle a civil suit with that alleged victim.

The HBO documentary Leaving Neverland aired detailed and disturbing stories from two men who say Jackson groomed them for sex and molested them when they were just little boys.

As USA Today reports, the French-language stations CKOI and Rythme and the English-language The Beat pulled his music from rotation following listener reaction to the documentary.

The documentary Leaving Neverland has left Michael Jackson's legacy in jeopardy.

There had been persistent rumours of throughout Jackson's life, but no allegations were ever substantiated.

The documentary also shows abuse claims by Wade Robson, a choreographer who claims that Jackson abused him when he was merely seven.

"She was in a movie previous year but believes the documentary is already scaring directors away because the abuse her father is accused of may put movie goers off her".

Leaving Neverland, detailing allegations of child abuse against the King of Pop, is on Channel 4 this week.

Roxanne Pallett has returned to Instagram for the first time since her Celebrity Big Brother punch row with a message defending Michael Jackson.

"We're always guided by the audience", said Leon Wratt of MediaWorks. Most stations claim that as allegations of paedophilia are stacked up against the late pop star, it's in their duty to reflect both current contexts and audience interests.
